How do I make your shopping cart work with my web site?

How many products can I sell?

If you are using our Free Shopping Cart, you can add up to 50 products to our database. Standard service plans allow up to 20,000 products.

 

If I use your free shopping cart, will my customers see advertisements or any mention of your company on shopping cart pages?

Absolutely not. We do not use your shopping cart account as a way to promote our company or others.

 

Can I use your shopping cart if I don't have my own domain name?

Yes, even if you only have a one page site under another company's domain name (e.g., http://www.example.com/myonepagesite.htm).

 

What is required for me to use your shopping cart?

You need a web site and must be able to access the HTML code used to build it. It doesn't matter if you use FrontPage or a different web site building tool, as long as you can add a few lines of HTML code next to each item you sell. You DO NOT have to be an HTML expert.

Are there additional per transaction fees to use your shopping cart?

No.

 

Is your shopping cart available in any language other than English?

No. However, you can insert custom messages (written in any language) into each page of the shopping cart.

 

What do I do if I want to cancel my shopping cart account?

Because access is free to approved merchants, there is no need to cancel. If you do not log in to the shopping cart administration area or receive an order within 30 days, your account will automatically be cancelled. If you upgrade to the Pro version of our shopping cart, you can cancel your account, at any time, in the Shopping Cart Administration Area (click on Account > Service Plan > Cancel Account).

What credit cards can I accept?

You can accept Visa®, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®. We also offer Diner's Club® and JCB®..

 

How long does it take to start accepting credit cards?

Our online application will only take 5-10 minutes to complete. Most of our merchants start accepting credit cards in 24 hours.

 

I have a bad credit rating. Will this be a problem?

No. FDIS has one of the highest approval rates in the industry.

What is a discount rate?

The discount rate is the percentage of each transaction that the processing company charges to handle the transaction for you.

 

What is a gateway fee?

A gateway fee is charged to allow merchants the ability to perform secure real-time credit card authorizations manually using a virtual terminal or on a web site over the Internet.

 

What is a Virtual Terminal?

A web-based terminal that enables businesses to authorize, process and manage credit card transactions from any computer that has an Internet connection and a Web browser.

 

What is AVS?

Address Verification Service (AVS) is a security feature to help prevent fraud. The customer enters their billing address, and it is verified against the address on file for that credit card number.

 

How will I receive payment on each of my transactions?

After a transaction has been approved, your customer's charges are deposited directly from the processor you were assigned to your bank account. Transaction deposits range from 24 to 72 hours from the date of the transaction.

 

Will I receive a statement for my merchant account activity?

Yes. Statements are sent on a monthly basis.

 

What type of bank account do I need to get a merchant account?

A U.S. checking account.

 

I live outside of the U.S. Can I get a merchant account?

Yes, as long as you have a U.S. checking account, you can acquire a merchant account and sign up through our Online Application.

 

I already have a retail merchant account. Why do I need another one?

It is against Visa/MasterCard regulations to process Internet transactions through your retail account; so another merchant account needs to be set-up.

 

What information will I need to complete the Online Application?

You will submit information about your business as well as information on the business owner. The application is an industry standard credit card acceptance application.

 

How do I know my merchant account application was received?

You will receive a confirmation email within seconds after submitting your online application.

 

Who reviews the information on my merchant account application?

The underwriting department confirms that your application is in compliance with Visa/MasterCard regulations.

 

What happens after my merchant account application is approved?

You will receive start-up information by email.
